The Condition of Air
Material research, Concept development | 2018
The ‘Condition of Air’ is an ongoing research aiming to unfold the inherent possibilities that inner tubes conceal besides their original function.
In questioning the short lifespan of products I reconsiders their role: rethinking them instead of producing more.
Aims to challenge the common perception and maturing a close connection between disposability and reinvention.
By binding, restraining, framing or cutting, the tubes are reinvented creating an archive of inspiring possibilities.
Continuing the research of the hidden forms of the toroid, it transalted itself into a serie of head pieces.
Commissioned by Lowland Festival 2019, The condition of Air got bigger. Creating an interactive and fun installation.
